Haltwhistle chef down to the final three in Masterchef


Daniel Graham, 27, from Haltwhistle is down to the final three on the BBC programme Masterchef : The Professionals. The show is set to hit the BBC again this week when the final three will be reduced to the winner under the watchful eye of expert judges Michel Rous and Gregg Wallace with the best chef set for a potentially lucrative career in the future.

After studying at Haydon Bridge high school, Daniel Graham moved to Carlisle to complete an NVQ in his chosen profession and has since been employed by a number of hotels and food establishments in and around the area of Northumberland. His rise to fame on Masterchef has not surprised those who were aware of his talents from an early age but it is yet another feather in the cap of the Haltwhistle region and brings more focus upon the area.

As the number of tourists visiting the Northumberland town of Haltwhistle continues to grow many people are now asking exactly what the town has to offer and why so many people appear to be attracted to the area. So what does Haltwhistle have to offer?

Haltwhistle is situated in the north of England and recently hit the headlines after a battle for the title of the “Centre of Britain”. It is a town which has grown over the last few years and one which had for many years depended upon the mining industry but has now moved into tourism and the related services. Situated just a few miles from the Roman Wall, Haltwhistle has proved to be a perfect stopping off point for many tourists with a number of accommodation facilities available in and around the area.
