Hadrians Wall

Hadrians Wall has proven to be something of a tourist magnet for the small northern town of Haltwhistle which has a blossoming tourist industry as visitors descend from all corners of the globe. The Roman Emperor Hadrian began building Hadrian’s Wall back in 122 as a means of preventing the Scots from invading England which had been taken over by the Romans.

Even though this particular wall is thousands of years old it is still very much intact in many areas and a number of Roman forts are also proving to be very popular tourist attractions with famous Hadrians Wall Walk more popular each year. The video below will give you a brief history of the Hadrian’s Wall which we will be covering in greater detail in the weeks and months ahead.
